MANILA — Two-time Rebisco Volleyball League (RVL) defending champion Bacolod Tay Tung Thunderbolts are aiming for another crown in the under-19 National Finals, scheduled for January 17-24 at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig.
Standing in the Thunderbolts’ way of a coveted three-peat are 11 squads from around the country alongside two foreign guest teams.
These are: University of San Jose Recoletos from Cebu City, Linao National High School from Leyte, Immaculate Conception Academy from Dasmarinas, Cavite, Iligan City National High School, De La Salle Lipa, Davao City National High School, Holy Trinity College from General Santos City, California Academy from Northern Luzon, and National University of Nazareth School from the National Capital Region.
The Persatuan Bola Tampar Sarawak from Malaysia and Perfect Set, a team from the USA, joined by the best high school Fil-Am volleyball players, are the two guest teams, looking to challenge the locals.
Since its inception in 2017, the league has been the foundational tournament for young Filipino female volleyball players to hone their skills and competitive mindsets.
